Meet your adjudicator – Daisy Leung

Junior Piano

Daisy Leung has dedicated 25 years to teaching piano, music history, & theory, passionately sharing her musical expertise with younger generations while adjudicating festivals throughout Ontario.

Daisy has performed as a collaborative pianist, orchestral musician, & soloist across North America, & served as a faculty pianist at Festival del Lago in Ajijic, Mexico. Her performances have been broadcast on CBC Music, most recently alongside double bassist Joel Quarrington. She resides in Toronto & works as a collaborative pianist at the University of Toronto & Royal Conservatory of Music, where she has performed in Koerner Hall alongside gifted young musicians.

Daisy began her studies in Edmonton under the guidance of Betty Wong, Wolfram Linnebach, & Thelma O’Neill, & earned her Bachelor of Music degree at the University of Toronto with Marietta Orlov. She completed further studies with Steven Philcox & Lydia Wong at U of T, Jorge Parodi at The Banff Centre, Helmut Brauss at Algonquin Summer Institute, Marietta Orlov at Aria Summer Music Festival, & Marc-AndrĂ© Hamelin, Jamie Sommerville, & Andrew Dawes at Scotia Festival of Music.

Daisy has had the privilege of performing for many of today’s leading classical musicians, including Steven Isserlis, Pamela Frank, Pinchas Zukerman, Jon Kimura Parker, Mary Morrison, Laurence Lesser, & Sylvia Rosenberg.

In addition to teaching & performing, Daisy served on the Board of Directors for the Women’s Musical Club of Toronto for four years. She believes that her experiences from the performance & administrative sides of her career will contribute positively to classical music presentation & help future generations of musicians through performance opportunities and financial support.
