A Day on the Green: Volunteering at the 4th Annual CK Charity Classic Golf Tournament
This past weekend, our dedicated team of volunteers had the pleasure of participating in the 4th Annual CK Charity Classic Golf Tournament, an event that’s quickly becoming a staple in the Chatham-Kent community. Hosted by the CK Charity Classic, this tournament is not just about golf; it’s about giving back. Every year, the event selects one or more deserving beneficiaries, and this year, we were thrilled to see the proceeds going to two incredibly important causes: Suicide Prevention Training and the Chatham-Kent branch of Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library.
As volunteers, we were proud to contribute our time and energy to support this fantastic event. Our team had a blast handing out swag to participants, assisting with the putting contest, helping the bartenders keep things flowing smoothly, and even shuttling folks to and from the washrooms. We also took charge of selling 50:50 tickets, adding a bit of extra excitement to the day.
The grand finale came during the banquet when the winning 50:50 ticket was drawn. The prize? Over $800! And in a heartwarming gesture that truly embodies the spirit of this community, the winners, Tina and Brian Furlan, generously donated their winnings back to the Imagination Library.
Thanks to the success of this year’s tournament and the incredible generosity of everyone involved, the Chatham-Kent Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library will now be able to add 75 more children to its program. This means 4,500 more books will find their way into the hands of local kids, helping to foster a lifelong love of reading.
A huge thank you goes out to Erin, Adam, and Eric, the founders of the CK Charity Classic, for their vision and dedication in bringing this event to life year after year. We also want to express our deepest gratitude to the donors, sponsors, and supporters who make it all possible. Your generosity and commitment to our community are truly inspiring.
We are so grateful to the CK Charity Classic for organizing this wonderful event and for choosing such impactful causes to support. Our golfers are already looking forward to next year’s event.
Thank you to everyone who participated, donated, and volunteered. Together, we’re building a stronger, more connected community—one swing, one book, and one act of kindness at a time.
