Access Open Minds is focused on youth

Mental Health Promotion Specialist Megan Walker was the featured speaker at this week’s Chatham-Kent Kiwanis meeting. Her message centered on a new youth program called Access Open Minds and Chatham-Kent is the only community in Ontario that received grant funding to operate the program. With one in five people affected by mental health issues at some point in their lives and 75% of mental illnesses starting between the ages of 15 and 24 Megan stressed how important it is to have the opportunity to reach out to youth through the downtown Chatham location.
