Read in a newsletter from The Ontario Genealogical Society

In 2019, volunteers from our branch gave a presentation about family history, the Kent Branch and The Ontario Genealogical Society to the members of the Kiwanis Club of Chatham-Kent. As a thank you, the Kiwanis Club donated a bed kit to the Sleeping Children Around the World (SCAW) in our name. 

Due to Covid and the world-wide restrictions, the distributions of bed kits was not feasible for many, many months. Finally, in March and April 2023, the bed kits were delivered through a partner with the Rotary Club of Kelanlya, Sri Lanka to many children around the world to provide a good night’s sleep. 

We recently received a letter of thanks and a photograph from the SCAW organization and the Kiwanis Club of Chatham-Kent. We salute the efforts of the SCAW and the Kiwanis Club of Chatham-Kent for their efforts to this worthy cause and we thank them for making the donation in our name.
