Ava Verkaik, right, a graduate of Blenheim District High School, recently received a $1000 Kiwanis Foundation of Canada Matching Scholarship from Dennis Myers of the Kiwanis Club of Chatham-Kent Scholarship Committee. Ava has demonstrated remarkable academic achievement throughout her secondary school years while being very active in school activities and community volunteering. Ava will attend Western University in the fall to pursue her Bachelor of Science in Nursing to become a registered nurse.

Mya has demonstrated remarkable academic achievement throughout her secondary school years while being very active in school activities and community volunteering. Mary Alice Marchand, Chair of the Club’s Scholarship Committee, made the presentation at a recent club meeting. Mya has been accepted in Brock University’s Concurrent Teacher Education program. Her goal is to become an elementary school teacher.
