Inspiring Generosity: The Kiwanis Club of Chatham-Kent Receives $8000 for Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library

Yesterday marked a momentous occasion for the Kiwanis Club of Chatham-Kent as they graciously received an $8000 cheque from the Chatham Kent Community Foundation and the South Kent Wind Community Funds. This generous donation will significantly bolster the club’s efforts to support early childhood literacy through Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library.

The cheque presentation took place during the Annual General Meeting of the Chatham Kent Community Foundation at the Active Lifestyle Centre. With this funding, the Kiwanis Club of Chatham-Kent will be able to distribute another 2000 books to children aged 0-5 in the Chatham-Kent area, fostering a love for reading from an early age and helping to shape the minds of our future leaders.

The proud moment was captured in a photograph, featuring Bill Weaver from the Chatham Kent Community Foundation handing over the cheque to Antoon van der Reijden, vice president of the Kiwanis Club, alongside Clare Latimer, president-elect, and Chuck Scott, past-president.

This contribution is a testament to the power of community collaboration and the shared commitment to nurturing the potential of every child. The Kiwanis Club of Chatham-Kent extends heartfelt thanks to the Chatham Kent Community Foundation and the South Kent Wind Community Funds for their invaluable support.
