September Update

Happy Labour Day weekend everyone! As a retired teacher, this always seemed like New Year’s to me but I must confess to a great relief that I am not preparing to return to schools on Tuesday.

There are a few items of interest for you:

1. From Debbie Colquhoun – “As I am working, I will not be at the meeting on September 8. But I wanted to use this opportunity to thank everyone involved with another successful Kiwanis Staples back to school barbecue. To those that donated, to those that volunteered, or helped in anyway, a sincere thank you. A special thanks to Kathie and Chuck, who’s expertise was so very much appreciated! It was a great day!”

Thanks to generous people, we raised $335.30 to contribute to the Back to School campaign as well as raising awareness of the goodwill and good work of Kiwanis in the community. And a special thank you to Deb for taking the lead on this project.

2. September 8 – First General Meeting after our summer hiatus. – Thursday.10:00 in Holy Trinity/St Paul Fellowship Hall. Speaker Chris Pegg, Chatham-Kent Community Foundation.

3. September 16 – Active Lifestyle Centre Senior Fair – 2:00 – 7:00 with all welcome. Thanks to Chuck, Dick, Kathie, Hilkka, Ross and Bob for volunteering to share the Kiwanis message with those attending.
