Introducing MFS

For the new season our Committee has chosen for a new and more secure system for the administration of our festival. This system is called Music Festival Suite (MFS) and has been used by many festivals in Canada.

There are several changes that you will notice. Some features will be very similar, others may be quite different. The registration will still be based on our printed Syllabus, which is scheduled to come out in September.

In the old system the registration was centered on the class selected, and all other information, like student’s name, address, teacher’s name and their details, had to be copied over every time for each class. In the new system that information is entered once and for each registration the information of the student, their family and their teacher is linked. This is done through the creation of profiles: one profile for the student, one for the parents or guardians (needed when the student is under-aged), and one for the teacher. The teacher needs only one profile and shares that with all of their students. See the chart below for 3 different situations (click to enlarge):
