We were unable to get a clear Zoom recording of the meeting but the Kiwanis spirit was alive and well at the Chilled Cork last night, starting with a rousing rendition of Happy Birthday and ending with an Irish blessing. The highlight of the meeting was the induction of six new members.
Thirty-eight members and guests welcomed Michael Plante, Jana Thompson and Bridget Blonde from Nest Realty, Marlena Goncalves and LaVahn Vanderkley from the Municipality of Chatham-Kent and Michele Turato from St Angela Meadows Retirement Residence. I know you will take every opportunity to make them feel valued and included in our activities and service projects.
In addition to such successful recruitment, Membership Chair Kelley Robertson also introduced a new Service Project – Saturday Breakfast at First Presbyterian Church. Teams of 5 Kiwanians will assist with the preparation, serving and clean-up of breakfast one or two Saturdays a month. Further details will follow but we are excited about this opportunity to expand our contributions in Chatham and look forward to enthusiastic participation.
Austin reminded us that c-Gaming (a major source of revenue for our club) is resuming in April. Anyone willing to work a two hour shift once or twice a quarter will need to take the online training. It is really well done and easy to follow, requiring around an hour. And speaking of revenue – Treasurer Marsha is collecting dues so if you haven’t e-transferred or sent a cheque yet – now’s the time.
Here are a few snapshots.
